During this past Spring semester at Moody Bible Institute - Spokane, I had the opportunity to begin using my training as a black belt in Tae Kwon Do (Tae Kwon Do is Korean karate) to teach women's self defense classes. I taught two beginner-level classes this past semester, both beginner-level, weekly. It was a great joy to be able to pass on the things that I have been taught by my instructors, Master Guy B. Ogburn, and Grandmaster Seoung Eui Shin. It has been my desire and goal to teach young women to defend themselves and those around them, and to see them gain the confidence that comes with learning martial arts.
In this next school year, I have the privilege to continue teaching self defense at Moody; I will be teaching beginning and advanced classes weekly.
As you can well imagine, this opportunity has been a huge blessing for me; not only am I able to put the funds earned from the class toward my schooling, I also have a job that I absolutely LOVE, and able to see others grow and flourish by teaching what I have been taught. It is a great honor to represent my Master and Grandmaster by continuing to teach and pass on the art that I love.
For you, I have attached the link to my Grandmaster's website, as well as a link to a short video clip about my self defense class at Moody Bible Institute - Spokane. Please check them out below.
May God bless you,
Amy
